The association
of deafblind and dual sensory impaired people
Deafblind UK
is working with Faith Communities to help them improve access for deafblind
people.
They are acutely aware
of the numbers of faith communities who require increased knowledge and skills
so that they can both welcome deafblind people and extend this to full
participation in events. Having established contact with many such communities
since their development day in June 2005, they continue to forge links. They
offer especially the support in raising awareness of the needs of people
suffering dual (or single) sensory loss and on training packages to help equip
them to create a relaxed and fully inclusive environment. If they can be of any help or if you would
be interested in an Awareness/Training Day in your area, please do get in touch
at pastoraldevelopment@deafblind.org.uk
