East of England Faiths Agency

SERVICE TO SCHOOLS

The East of England Region has been for some time a multicultural, multi-faith society and its diversity continues to be enhanced by the arrival of Refugees and Asylum Seekers from all around the world.

Our community has people who are Baha'is, Buddhists, Christians, Humanists, Hindus, Jains, Jews, Muslims, Pagans, Sikhs, Taoists and Zoroastrians.  These groups are not homogenous; and may include a range of different religious and cultural traditions

SPEAKERS, TUTORS AND TRAINERS

EEFA has a register of experienced tutors.  Each tutor is a practising member of his/her faith and is comfortable speaking about their faith and describing what it is like to live it out in modern multicultural / multi-faith England.  We can arrange for one or more of these tutors to visit your school to lead an assembly or to speak about their faith.  We can arrange for tutors from different faiths to take assemblies together.  We can also arrange for a team of tutors to run a day-long themed workshop.  We send teams into schools to lead workshops on Rites of Passage, Marriage, Work, Money, Death, and Sex.  One of our workshops, 'Breaking Barriers'; challenges stereotypes and preconceptions and can include speakers on Islamophobia, anti-semitism, refugees and asylum seekers and the travelling community.  We are always happy to work with schools in planning special days on faith /culture / lifestyle topics.

EEFA pays its tutors and charges for their time as follows:

Teaching Fee

£26.25

per hour per tutor

Non returnable Booking Fee

We will also reclaim our speakers travelling expenses
