Waveney Interfaith Circle

Waveney Interfaith Circle is a group for anyone interested in learning about the beliefs and traditions of other faiths through friendly informal contact with those who are familiar with them.  New members are always very welcome.

We have meetings each month at the Friends’ Meeting House, Beccles at 7.30pm. Our themed “talking” meetings are relaxed and open – no one need fear feeling ill informed or afraid of criticism. We often enjoy a meal out together too.

Bury St. Edmunds Faith Walk will take place on Friday August 24th, meeting at the Cathedral Pilgirims kitchen by 10.30 and leaving around 3.00, after lunch back at the Cathedral, with member of the West Suffolk Interfaith and Community Forum. It's open to any interested party - just let me know.

Monday Sept 17th - Sources of inspiration.
Please bring a poem , a reading or a piece of music that restores your spirits, to share with us. (let me know if it's music so we have something to play it on...)

Monday 15th October
Preparation for Interfaith Week
and the Christmas Tree Festival
Start incubating ideas, please.

Monday 19th November
(this one will be upstairs) We could designate this one for a meal out - a reward for the hard work of interfaith week. Any other suggestions welcome.

Monday 17th December - Advent Stories
What do our faiths teach about the coming of prophets? What signs are said to foretell the return of Christ?

National Interfaith Week is from Nov. 11th - 18th
If we can use Beccles library again we'll hold another pop - up cafe there on Saturday 17th November. Could we link it to either the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1 or Votes for women?  There must be lots of stories of people of faith and conscience connected to both. Hopefully we can each encourage at least one other faith group or other organisation to mark the week in some way.
